All blemishes would probably fall under one of the following categories.  Skin blemishes, acne blemishes, and facial blemishes are the main categories.  Because so many people feel that blemishes are an imperfection they want to learn how to get rid of them.  Most people would say that having acne or getting pimples would be considered embarrassing.  They also might tell you that have some discoloration of the skin in certain area or an obvious birth mark or mole might be embarrassing.  There is a whole industry of products that have been created because of this.  People want to be able to remove blemishes from their skin. 

For those that are not concerned about the natural blemishes and are more concerned about acne blemishes lets discuss what causes these types.  Acne is caused by clogged pores.  There are many different things that can cause ones pores to become clogged.  If you like to wear makeup or use things such as night creams, moisturizers, and foundation, these are well known to cause your pores to become clogged.  If you are someone that is already dealing with acne you might want to only buy skin products that have non-comedogenic on there label.  These types of cosmetics are supposed to help your pores not to become clogged up. 

Other things that can cause clogged pores include your environment you live in, the oil from your hair, hormones, stress, menstruation, pregnancy, and not having a good hygiene routine.  Its important to wash your face at least 2 times daily and if you wear makeup its important that you take it off at night before you go to sleep.  If you are experiencing blemishes due to hormone changes there are medications you can get from your doctor to help with that.
