Home Remedies For Pimples
What is a pimple
In simple terms, a pimple is what appears on your skin when one of your follicles or pores gets blocked with Sebum (oil) or dead skin cells. When this happens, bacteria begins to grow, infecting the pore. A pimple (scientifically known as a Postule) forms when the blocked follicle wall ruptures and white blood cells make their way to the surface of your skin.
Home Remedies For Pimples
There are many home remedies for acne pimples, and many of them simply won’t work. For example, many people claim that one of the good home remedies for getting rid of pimples is to simply go out into the sun. While this my make your skin more red and make it so you don’t see the pimples as much, it will also potentially cause skin damage and only speed up clearing of acne in the very short term. If you hear someone claiming they have found the best home remedies for pimple treatments, then take a step back and think about what they are claiming before you try it—or better yet speak with your dermatologist before doing anything.
Trusted Home Remedies for Pimples
The best home remedy for pimples is simply to wash properly twice a day. Remember, washing improperly can do tremendous damage to both your skin and to your pimple prevention program. Follow these simple steps when washing:
1. Wash no more than 2 times a day.
2. Wash with your bare hands, or a specific instrument recommended by your dermatologist. Wash cloths can damage and irritate your skin, actually causing more acne. Remember, acne is not caused from the outside in—which means dirt and other things you get on the playground are not the cause, but rather the buildup in sebum from within.
3. Eat well. While this last one is debated by the skin-care field all the time, I’ll include it simply for the reason that it can’t hurt. Some studies have shown that simple carbohydrates (candy bars, white breads, etc.) that are high-glycemic foods are possibly linked to acne development. Again, there needs to be more scientific research done in this area, but if it can’t hurt and may help you might as well try it.
Natural Remedies For Pimples
There are many natural remedies for pimples, and many can work very well. Below is a short list of common natural remedies for pimples:
• Water. No water, is not a cure-all for acne, but making sure you are properly hydrated will help your skin maintain its moisture and proper functions, which will also help prevent acne.
• Green Tea. Grean tea acne therapy is a common home remedy for acne. An antioxidant, green tea has been proven to be an anti-bacterial. It can decrease hormonal activity (one of the causes of acne), kill bacteria, and reduce inflammation
• Sulfur. Sulfur is one of the most ancient forms of acne remedies. Sulfur can penetrate deep into pores and help local immune responses against acne by getting rid of infection. Sulfur is commonly used in soaps and OTC acne medications.
Remember, when exploring the best home remedies for pimples, you should always get the advice of your dermatologist before trying any of the above recommendations. Each home remedy for pimple care will have a different effect on different people, and your doctor will be able to help you create your own home remedy treatment for acne that is tailored to your individual needs.
