How To Treat Acne
How To Treat Acne Naturally
There are several different methods and ways to treat acne. Some methods are natural, where some combine both natural methods to treat acne and prescription-based methods.
The first way is how to treat acne naturally. Natural methods will usually start with the basics—washing your face, neck, back, and other areas of skin twice daily. This may be one of the most important steps in treating acne and must not be skipped, whether you be an adult or teenager. Use a neutral or balance pH based soap for best results. Do not use normal, everyday soap—this will not only possibly aggravate your skin, but most normal soap has a basic pH, and will make it easier for the acne bacteria to proliferate.
Other natural products dermatologists might recommend if asked how to treat back acne, or any types of acne are:
- Sulfur. Sulfur is one of the oldest treatments for acne, and is most commonly used in soaps.
-Zinc. Zinc has been shown to be somewhat effect, although not as effective as some other OTC options (discussed below under ‘how to treat acne with products’ section).
-Tea Tree Oil. This substance contains terpinen-4, which is believed to be the main reason why tea tree oil acts as an antibiotic. This oil can potentially kill P-acnes and other bacteria on the skin that may cause acne.
How To Treat Acne With Products (both OTC and Prescription)
One of the most effective ways to treat acne is to combine the routine washing of the skin with treatment with certain anti acne products. There are many great products that you can purchase OTC that are effective in fighting acne. If you have more severe acne (not cystic acne) then you can also get a prescription medication from your doctor. The following is a list of common products that you might be recommend if asked how to cure acne:

How to Treat Adult Acne and How to Treat Acne Scars
If you are an adult with serious acne problems, or if you have a problem with acne scars, then it is best that you discuss your options with a dermatologist. Treatments may be the same as what is described above, but may be different given age and other factors causing the acne.
How to Treat Cystic Acne
Cystic acne is one of the most serious types of acne and requires very special care. While some of the products used to treat cystic acne may be the same or a combination of those mentioned above, it is very important to discuss your options with your doctor/dermatologist before you do anything to treat cystic acne.
