Lip Augmentation
The options you have to choose from include have your lips injected with collagen, having your lips injected with fat from somewhere else in your body, and having implants put in such as SoftForm and AlloDerm. Depending one what type of treatment you choose will determine whether or not you might need additional treatments. The collagen or fat injections are only temporary and will require additional treatments to maintain its form. More permanent lip augmentation options would include the SoftForm and AlloDerm options.
SoftForm is a synthetic material that is injected into the lips and AlloDerm is a natural collagen sheet that is made from skin that is donated from others. It is inserted through the corner areas of the mouth and once it has been put in place it starts to integrate with the natural tissues of your lips. This is why it is considered more of a permanent option. There are some additional treatment types that include the following: Autologen – implant made from patients own skin, Dermalogen – Human Tissue Matrix that is injectable and is from a donor, HylaForm, Radiance, Restylane, and Fascia are some other options.
The benefits vary depending on what type of treatment you are considering. If you want more of a permanent look then you would want to go with SoftForm or AlloDerm as that is what they are designed to do. If you are more interested in testing out what your lips would look like with lips augmentation then you should choose a more temporary option like the fat injection or the collagen. Another thing to consider is what the lip augmentation cost will be and if it is something you can afford. You will want to talk with a plastic surgeon to discuss the costs because each treatment will have a different price and each doctor will charge differently as well.
If you want to search for some lip augmentation before and after photos you should be able to get a good idea of what each treatment option can do. This may help to narrow down what procedure you would like to choose. Don’t forget that you should always consult with your doctor before undergoing any type of treatment to ensure that it is safe for your body.
