The Best Skin Care Treatments

The best skin care treatments start with three important phases.  Each phase is critical to good skin care and must not be skipped if you want clean, healthy, young-looking skin.  These three phases are: 1)Protection, 2) Routine Care, and 3) Medication and Therapy.

Protection

Facial skin care treatments are best when they are minimized. This is done through proper prevention and protection from harmful elements. Certain harmful agents will attack your skin, causing problems such as wrinkles, acne, and scars.

The most common harmful elements you need to protect yourself from are the sun, smoking, and pollution. While pollution may be hard to escape, you are in control when it comes to the sun and smoking. Using proper anti aging skin care treatments and techniques can prevent the problems from ever arising.

To properly protect your skin, you should always wear SPH 15 sun screen, wear hats or long-sleeved shirts, and keep yourself from being over-exposed to the sun for prolonged periods of time.

Routine Care

This is really where the treatment part of ‘skin care treatments’ starts – at treating your skin with the proper exfoliants, moisturizing creams, and vitamins that help reverse some of the effects brought on by age, hereditary, and exposure to the harmful UV rays from the sun. A good routine skin care treatment that you should do everyday includes:

• Washing your face twice daily, using proper soaps and techniques. Do not use abrasive soaps, and do not scrub your face hard. It is best to use a neutral pH soap and your bear hands when washing

• Exfoliating regularly. This helps get rid of old, dead skin cells and allows the younger, healthier skin come to the surface.

Medication/Treatments

Even if you protect and take care of your face regularly you will still probably have skin issues arise such as acne or wrinkles. The following types of acne skin care treatments and anti aging skin care treatments are available:

• Anti aging skin care treatments such as wrinkles creams. Wrinkle creams generally contain retinol, a Vitamin-A extract that helps reduce the free radicals that cause collagen levels in your skin to decrease.

• Chemical peels. This process uses alpha hydroxy acids and beta hydroxyl acidsto peel away old skin and expose newer, healthier skin.

• Face lifts. This may be a good option, but only after you discuss all other options with your dermatologist.

• Acne skin care treatments. Most acne treatments start with acne creams that contain benzoyl peroxide creams (a bactericidal that is effective in getting rid of acne), retinoids, or isotretinoin (Accutane type products).

• Natural skin care treatments such as sulfer and green tea that are natural antioxidants and can get into the pores of your skin and help stop acne.

By combining proper prevention, care, and treatment you will end up with very complete, effective skin care treatments that are not just short-lived but that can provide lasting results.
